Work in Canada

Around 100,000 foreign workers come to Canada every year to work temporarily. These workers are helping Canadian employers to fill skill shortage, transfer new skills and knowledge to the Canadians and support economic growth in Canada.

Temporary Foreign Worker must have a valid work permit to work in Canada with a few exceptions.

Live-In Caregivers
The Live-in Caregiver Program brings qualified caregivers to Canada in situations where there are no Canadians or permanent residents to fill available positions. Live-in caregivers are individuals who are qualified to work without supervision in a private household providing care for children, the elderly or people with disabilities. The live-in caregiver must live in the employer’s home. After working two years as a live-in caregiver, you can apply to be a permanent resident of Canada. more »»

Temporary Foreign Workers
Under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, foreign nationals may work temporarily in Canada under certain conditions. Those who wish to do so are generally required to have a work permit, which is usually valid for a specific job and length of time. more »»
